 Power Module

The AC and DC power supplies are half-height modules and must be installed in the left-hand side of the rack in thedesignated slot.The 3500 rack can contain one or two power supplies with any combination of of AC and DC. Either power supply can power a full rack.

When two power supplies are installed in a rack, the one located in the lower slot serves as the primary power supply and the other located in the upper slot serves as the backup. If installed, the second power supply is a backup to the primary power supply.

The AC and DC power supplies accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them to voltages accepted by the other 3500 modules.The 3500 Series Mechanical Protection Systems provide the following power supplies: general purpose AC power supplies, high voltage DC power supplies, and low voltage DC power supplies.

General purpose AC power supplies and PLMs (power input modules) are not compatible with the Legacy 3500 AC power supplies, high voltage AC PIMs, and low voltage AC PIMs are not compatible. The HV and LV DC power supplies and PIMs (Power Input Modules) are not compatible with the Legacy 3500 HV and LV DC power supplies and PIMs.
